Summer Arts Festival

The Summer Arts Festival is the premiere, three-day arts event of the region held in conjunction with the annual Yankton Riverboat Days Celebration. The festival is held in picturesque Riverside Park which borders the mighty Missouri River. Held annually on the third full weekend in August under the coordination of Yankton Area Arts, the juried show features over 120 fine artists and fine craftsmen from around the country. Each year an estimated 100,000 people attend this community celebration.

The 36th SAF Festival will be held August 21-23, 2020.

For further information contact the Yankton Area Arts office at 605-665-9754.

It is with great regret that the 2020 Yankton Riverboat Days Board of Directors, together with the Yankton Area Arts Association Board of Directors, has made the very difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Yankton Riverboat Days and Summer Arts Festival scheduled for August 21-23.

The decision follows discussions with local and regional leaders as well as consideration of the current recommendations from the CDC regarding the COVID 19 pandemic and festivals of our size.  The safety of our community, citizens, visitors and vendors is our top priority and concern.

Yankton Riverboat Days and Yankton Area Arts would like to thank our community for your understanding during this difficult time.  Additionally, we wish to express our gratitude for the tremendous support from our sponsors, the City of Yankton and all of the volunteers.

In the meantime, mark your calendars for January 1 when applications will be open once again. We look forward to celebrating in person with all of you next summer, August 20-22, 2021 at Riverside Park!
