Our Mission & History
Yankton Area Arts is dedicated to promoting the arts in our community by providing opportunities for artists and art lovers alike. Since our founding in 1973, we have offered a variety of classes, workshops, and events that showcase the diverse talents of local & regional artists. We believe that art has the power to enrich and transform lives, and we are committed to making it accessible to everyone in our community. Join us in celebrating the arts!
What we do
Classes & Workshops
We offer a wide range of art classes and workshops for people of all ages and skill levels. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced artist, we have something for you. Click here to learn more about our classes and workshops and how you can sign up.
Community Events
Throughout the year we host a variety of events to encourage the community to appreciate art in all its forms. From free summer concerts to our huge Summer Arts Festival there are plenty of opportunities to get out and enjoy the arts. See all our upcoming events here.
Art Gallery
We are proud to offer a free art gallery to the community, where we feature a rotating schedule of exhibits from local and regional artists. Learn more about current and upcoming exhibits.
Gallery Hours:
Monday - Friday 1:00pm - 5:00pm
Saturday 1:00pm - 3:00pm
Scholarships
Each year we present a scholarship to a Yankton High School student who is passionate about pursuing a career in an arts-driven field.
