Mighty Mo Photo Exhibit
The Annual Mighty Mo Photo Exhibit is an area photographic competition designed to complement Yankton’s Annual Riverboat Days celebration and to encourage and recognize the talents of area photographers. Combining photography, instant access to the Missouri River and the popularity of Riverboat Days makes this annual event one of the most popularly participated and anticipated exhibits. The exhibit is open to photographers of all experience and age levels.
2018 Theme: Art in Architecture
ELIGIBILITY AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Open to all photographers living in South Dakota, Iowa, or Nebraska.
- Entries do NOT have to include the Missouri River in the composition of the photo.
- All photographic media, techniques, and styles accepted.
- Artists may enter up to four photographs in the competition.
Delivery of Work:
Entries are to be delivered to G.A.R. Hall Art Gallery June 25-June 29, 2018 from 1-5pm or by appointment.
June 25-29 – Entries accepted
July 5 – Exhibit installed
July 6 – Exhibit Opens (there will be a First Friday event and reception that night)
July 6-August 2 – Entries judged
August 3 – First Friday Reception and Awards Ceremony 5:00-7:00 p.m.
August 21 – Exhibit closes
2017 Mighty Mo - Right Place at the Right Time
The 2017 Mighty Mo Theme was Right Place at the Right Time.
This exhibit featured 15 regional photographers of which 9 are brand new to the competition. Three awards were given on August 4, 2017.
